Sticky Pod Instructions

Your new Sticky Pod® is made from industrial suction cups that have an enormous amount of suction strength. This is good for your camera, but requires very careful use. Please follow these careful rules, and use common sense when applying your Sticky Pod®:

Sticky Pod Instructions Clean Suction Cups Clean your suction cups with hot water and soap. Water will not harm your Sticky Pod, just place it in your sink. Be sure to keep them clean on a regular basis. If your Sticky Pod loses its grip in a short amount of time, you must clean your suction cups right away. Take a cloth rag and some clean water with you in the field to help keep them clean.
  • Although your Sticky Pod has been tested and can endure for many weeks, never assume your Sticky Pod® will stay in place forever, it will NOT. Always clean surface and suction cups before applying Sticky Pod®.
  • When applying to glass, always support the glass on the opposite side of the Sticky Pod. The glass may break if you do not. Never apply to thin, weak or broken glass because these suction cups will break it.
  • Always secure your camera with a tether line when using your Sticky Pod® on any vertical (all angles), inverted or moving surface. This is not only for the safety of your camera, but more importantly, for the safety of those around you. Always remember to care for your camera. You can always replace a Sticky Pod® for less than a camera.

Your Sticky Pod consists of three (3) basic components:

  • The base
  • Extension
  • Knuckle

The most common Sticky Pod configuration is to screw the extension to the base, then the knuckle to the extension. Of course, you can attach any Sticky Pod component to one another or the base.  Your camera will attach to any Sticky Pod component.  The Sticky Pod uses all the same threads as the mounting socket on your camera.

When attaching an extension to your knuckle, always be sure to remove the round camera plate on the top of the knuckle.  Once your extension is attached, be sure to reattach your camera plate to the top of your extension. Sticky Pod Knuckle Instructions

Hi Tom,
I used your Sticky Pod system on an Indy car on the St. Petersburg GP road course. Most of the INDY officials were skeptical that your system would stay on an INDY car @ speed. I knew It would do fine. I stuck it on the car and the footage turned out great, and most importantly it held our $35,000 camera on and kept it from damaging a $600,000 race car.
